GSOE Scholarships for Incoming Freshman
Mini-Circuits Scholarship
The Mini-Circuits Scholarship is founded by Mr. Harvey Kaylie, an alumnus of CCNY School of Engineering and the founder of Mini-Circuits, Inc., a global leader in designing, manufacturing, and distributing RF and Microwave signal processing components. The Mini-Circuits Scholarship is intended to help economically disadvantaged, gifted and talented students attend the City College to pursue their engineering career.
The Mini-Circuits Scholarship provides the following benefits:
- $10,000 per year for five years to support academic study including 20% time dedicated to research
- Privilege to engage in faculty-mentored research to develop hands-on experience and practical knowledge
- Individualized advising and counseling for career development
- Special guidance in preparation for post-graduate study with fellowship
- Opportunities for paid summer internship in the Mini-Circuits, Inc.
Grove Scholarship
The Grove Scholarship is founded by Dr. Andrew Grove, the founder of Intel Corporation, who graduated in 1960 from the Chemical Engineering Department, and earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1963. He has provided a generous endowment to the Grove School of Engineering and he enthusiatically supports undergraduate students participating in research.
The Grove Scholarship provides the following benefits:
- $5,000 per year for five years to support academic study including 20% time dedicated to research
- Privilege to engage in faculty-mentored research to develop hands-on experience and practical knowledge
- Individualized advising and counseling for career development
- Special guidance in preparation for post-graduate study with fellowship
- Biomedical Engineering

Eligibility
Please note that a strong preference will be given to students who intend to pursue graduate studies in the Engineering fields. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors with:
- A minimum of 1250 combined total (Math and English) SAT or equivalent
- High School Average of 85 or higher
- 4 years of Mathematics and 3 years science including 1 year of Physics and 1 year of Chemistry
- Record of extracurricular activities and/or a commitment to community service

Step3: Complete the CCNY scholarship online application at https://enrollment.ccny.cuny.edu/scholarship/, and at the beginning of the "Personal Statement" specify the scholarship you apply.
